Homeschool - Hydra (Limited Homemade Package)
This is the third release from Homeschool on Chaotic Underworld,
which need less to say this is also his most mature song-writing release
to date. Hydra is a still a mixed bag of tunes like the previous
releases, but it does hang in the realm of indy-folk more than its
predecessors. Homeschool has raised the bar of this eclectic genre with
his honest song writing and musical talents.
This is Chaotic Underworld's first reissue of a previous
release with new artwork and bonus track. The Witch is Watching came out
originally in 2005 and we were sold out with in weeks with the first
limited release. We felt that this album deserved another round of
attention with these added pieces to make it the complete work of art it
is. The Witch is Watching is one of the finest albums CU has to offer.
We hope you enjoy it again (or for the first time) as much as we have.
The Witch is Watching -
"...Us All" is an ambient instrumental flowing through the emotions
of Grimm's fairy tale Hansel & Gretel. obsessed with old child's tale
this became a dark explosion of instrumentation that follows the
original story which speaks through innocent eye telling of fear and
depression. Rereleased with
bouns track Underwater. WIW features the guitarist from Panzer
Safety Sheep Ghost Hunt Its almost Halloween!! and that can only
mean that the search for ghosts and ghouls will increase in the coming
nights. So if you're going on these hunts or have been on a few and hear
something out of place or just fuckn creepy then you better start
running.
THIS IS 100% REAL!! NO BULL SHIT!! Back in 2001 several adventures souls
make a trek to an abandoned church in Unicoi Co. Tennessee. The church
is rumored to be haunted by a ghost of an exercised child and is also
thought to be a location for the local Satan worshipers. When the group
of 5 kids go inside the church they begin to feel a tension of unease
and make a break back towards the car. while running back to the car
they hear someone screaming bloody murder through out the woods.
Are those screams of the child whose soul was contaminated by demons? Or
is it the Satan Worshipers playing pranks on a bunch of kids? you
decide.

A: The church is called Anderson Chapel in Unicoi Co. Unfortunately it
was destroyed in 2006 because it was deemed unsafe...
Q: What is a Safety Sheep?
A: The Safety Sheep was a house venue occupied by 4 dudes that were nice
enough to have shows in their living room. the dudes were Travis,
Dustin, Zack & Bo. Travis and Zack are in the video, Zack is filming.
Q: What does this have to do with Chaotic Underworld?
A: Not much really. I just happen to still have the footage, put it up
on youtube and wanted to share.

Serious
lack of updates I'd like to apologize for the slack thats
been lingering on this web site for months now. i've got a serious video
card problem which makes updating this site sooooooo difficult. i hope
to have this squared away in the new few weeks and updates will be
plentiful. we also plan to do a complete overhaul of the site sometime
over the summer.

hands on, quite even the sleaziest things in TN. The Skeleton Pecker is
removed any rationality, tact, or dignity, turning them into Skeezy
Party Monster Horn Dogs. They're true to their guns with songs like
Stand Up When You 69 or Cummn Like A Freight Train with the
subject matter sticking closely to penetration. A laughable ep from the
rudest dudes in the south. Check It.

of patient of moods leading up to the heaviest of riffs. This album
delivers on many fronts while its mellow groove paces into heavy

The Kentucky transplants, Pilgrimm, will sonically
introduce themselves with the upcoming release "Seek The Old Path &
Walk Therein". Pilgrimm has crafted an amazing metal album of sludge
riffs, a thick rhythm canopy, screeching noise and grizzly vocals. All
around a wholesome piece of work creeping out of the backwoods of TN.

HETERODOX RECORDS presents "Circumference"! This one of the first installments of the Asheville base
electronica label Heterodox Records. Circumference is the duality
of two projects in one dubbed Flyswatter and Screwdriver manned by
Jeremy Turon. Both chapters of these projects are
similar in that they're electronic based, but each possesses a distinct
sound apart, creating this yin and yang tension. Flyswatter mixes into
ambient breakbeats with a hint of glitch-twitch and a lot of mellow
grooves. Very chill, very kool. Screwdriver is at times more driving in
dance rhythms , while they're also squeaking out Bruce Haack vocals, and
comforting you with tripped out phase distorted keyboards. But
like the other side of this disc it too experiments with ambiance and

is presenting you with The Way I
Commandeered All Those People (hurried love), an anthology
of songs from the privately released albums, Bad Men Have No
Songs, Pretty Crappy, and Winter Power. The
Red Orchestra is the baby of Mr. Matthew Chandley whom sought
out to write and record songs naked in matter and true in form,
giving The Red Orchestra its persona of being stripped, honest,
and spontaneous. Chandley’s audacious in the moment
attitude has much to do with the song writing and is the
catalyst between the matter and the form of which makes this
album stand out in the Chaotic Underworld collection. Most of
red orchestra’s style is lo-fi acoustic guitar writing twisted
with Chandley’s and Pat Cobble’s vocals, but no worries, these
guys aren’t 100% “wear my heart on my sleeve” sappiness. There
is often satire banter that the group carries on with leaving me
to believe they don’t take them selves as seriously as they
sound. Chandley and the boys at times interject these acoustic
songs with electronic no wave keyboards, piercing noise, and
ridiculous dialogue giving this collection a unique perspective
to any listener of experimental music.

result of the turbulent times and challenges that our home
schooled friend has endured since his debuted self titled
release. If that disc is very dear to you then you won’t be
disappointed with Computer Graphics. Homeschool has
skillfully tuned his sound and songwriting while bring us more
of his 808 synth pop music. His lyrics are sometimes very
heartfelt while other times incredibly goofy, keeping the
listener on edge with a guessing game of this man’s daily life.

AORTA JOURNAL IS CALLING IT A DAY
For over two years
now aorta journal has held a strong presence in the underground
community of the tri-cities. We wanted to stand out in the crowd
and distance our selves from the cookie cutter metal-core sound
that has saturated our scene and mostly everywhere else for that
matter. As sloppy and tight as we were at times it was still the
best we had and no matter what we always gave it our all. Aorta
Journal was an experiment and test for all of us of which it
think we passed, if only for the passion and cathartic release
we emitted. The music was our therapy.
We started out with only the three of us; Richard (drums),
Patrik (samples, noise), and myself on guitar, purely out of the
need to play music which had been pinned up in all of us for
sometime. Right off something clicked between us and we decided
to try our hand at writing a few songs. The three of us came
from a diverse background of which we could all pull from and
expand the influence so to express what we felt in the now, but
still making an effort to not sound like everyone else. After a
few weeks we were offered to play a show with Dysrhythmia and
took it, but we all wanted this faction to have a voice. So
in time we found Brandon Moore and immediately we knew that his
voice would help carry this band to where we wanted to be.
From there we played many many shows and eventually added bass
player John Mcmeen. we had some of our best times with john, but
his interest grew thin over time and we lost him after a few
months. After that we added bass player Sara Jones. She entered
the band with great enthusiasm and talent. With Sara I think we
wrote some of our best songs and played some of the best shows
too. Not to long after Sara joined the band we lost Brandon to
him getting a real job. But we replaced him with old friend Lee
Reed from Eat Shit & Die. Lee played his first show out of town
which turned out to be an amazing show but has only played a
couple shows since. So as you can see we’ve had many line up
changes and have survived them all, until now.
A few weeks ago Richard admitted that he wasn’t interested in
the band anymore and wanted to take a break from it all. So now
it seems that we are at another junction in our lives and faced
with the problem of sincerity as a band. Patrik and I thought it
would be best to not go on as Aorta Journal with out Richard. So
without burning our selves into nothing we’ve decided to call it
a day for Aorta Journal and leave things on good terms. We plan
to play a few more shows at the moment and those will be posted
as they are confirmed. We also plan to record an EP this summer
which will be released on Chaotic Underworld sometime in the
summer/fall.
some of us plan to keep playing music together and we are all
looking forward to that.
I want to
thank every one whom supported us along the way and to those who
gave us the encouragement at times when we seemed to need it the
most. I also wanted to thank Brandon, John, Sara and Lee for
riding it out with us as long as you did, without you kids we
wouldn’t have made it this far.

spring comp. had such an overwhelming response. so here's the
deal.. we're willing to give anyone a chance at what they do,

idea is to expose and support any kind of art and music that is

sugary sweet machines and
the witch is watching have both teamed up with us to help
with the distribution of their albums. both artist will be
available for mail order by August 30th. oddly enough both of
these releases are telling a story.
the sugary sweet machines - illustrations of the invisible
world is a lo-if rock album that is telling the tale of
boy's encounter with creatures not of this world and the
internal conflict that come along with his experience. this
isn't just another cheesy "concept album", this is a tale of
serious metaphysical dilemma of trusting the mind over the
senses and the pitfalls of the doubting the outside world from
the mind's point of view while leading up to complete solipsism
or insanity.
the witch is watching - "The Witch is Watching Us All"
is an ambient instrumental flowing through the
emotions of Grimm's fairy tale Hansel & Gretel. obsessed with
old child's tale this became a dark explosion of instrumentation
that follows the original story which speaks through innocent
eye telling of fear and depression.
